How dispute resolution provisions affect consumer rights – Lunch and Learn CLE (online)

Course Description: This webinar will explore how dispute resolution provisions in consumer contracts affect consumer remedies and substantive rights. It will present an overview of common features of such provisions, including arbitration clauses and class action waivers. We will look at the practical effects of these provisions on the ability of consumers to avail themselves of statutory and common law rights and remedies, and we will consider recent developments in case law addressing challenges to enforceability.

About the Speaker: Martin Woodward is a partner in the Dallas law firm Kitner Woodward PLLC. For decades, he has represented diverse groups of consumers in class actions, arbitration, and complex litigation. He currently serves as Texas state co-chair for the National Association of Consumer Advocates and as a member of the Council of the Consumer & Commercial Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.
